* – “Top 5 Hitters” highlights exceptional matchups that may include both stars, lesser-known players, and those on your waiver wires.
When putting together the top 5 hitters, we factor in a few things; prior matchup history, whether the hitter is hot, and the pitchers history against that certain type of hitter. These matchups are released in the morning so ensure to research the weather leading up to the games in case they were postponed, and if the player is in the starting lineup. These suggestions should help you with all of your daily fantasy baseball lineups!

Top 5 Hitters for 7/8/14

Nick Markakis vs. Doug Fister- hitting .421 (8/19) with2 2Bs, a HR, a BB, & 8 RBIs. Markakis is definitely a forgotten bat in this lineup. He’s hitting over .300 this past week and is on 5 game hitting streak with 3 multi-hit games. Even in a tougher matchup, don’t forget him tonight!

Ben Zobrist vs. Jason Vargas - hitting .423 (11/26) with 4 2Bs, a HR, 3 BBs, & 6 RBIs. Zobrist is on a 4 game multi-hit streak and is hitting .433 over the past week. In fact, all of the games Zobrist has hit in the past 10 have been multi-hit games. The streak should continue here.

Chris Johnson vs. Jacob deGrom- hitting 1.000 (2/2) with a 2B & 3 RBIs. One game sample size, and that game was just 6 days ago! In that game Johnson went 2/2 with the 3 RBIs against deGrom. He’s a cheaper option that should have a lower ownership. I think his BvP line will continue to grow tonight.
