June 3rd MLB DFS Top Plays

Tonight the MLB offers us a nice 11 game slate, with only a few solid pitching options so this should be a high scoring night across the industry which makes it more fun as a DFS player. It appears to be national Joey Gallo day who had an absolute monster game in his debut last night, plot twist he will be facing Chris Sale tonight.

Vegas Odds for the evening as followed:

7:05 PM EST : Cincinnati ( +124 ) at Philadelphia ( -134 ) —- T: 7.0
7:08 PM EST : Oakland ( +105 ) at Detroit ( -114 ) —- T: 8.0
7:10 PM EST : Chi Cubs ( -122 ) at Miami ( +113 ) —- T: 7.0
7:10 PM EST : Minnesota ( +149 ) at Boston ( -162 ) —- T: 9.0
8:05 PM EST : Chi Sox ( -133 ) at Texas ( +123 ) —- T: 8.5
8:10 PM EST : Baltimore ( +115 ) at Houston ( -125 ) —- T: 8.5
8:10 PM EST : Cleveland ( -129 ) at Kansas City ( +119 ) —- T: 7.5
8:10 PM EST : LA Dodgers ( -133 ) at Colorado ( +123 ) —- T: 10.5
9:10 PM EST : NY Mets ( +132 ) at San Diego ( -143 ) —- T: 6.5
10:05 PM EST : Tampa Bay ( +117 ) at LA Angels ( -127 ) —- T: 7.5

Pitchers - James Shields hasn't been picking up the decision in his last three only collecting one win but has 24 strikeouts over that period and facing a Mets team tonight who can really struggle at the plate. Shields makes for a nice pivot off the top arms throwing tonight and a guy I will roster in my GPPs. Chris Sale is 4-2 on the year, with 22 strikeouts in his last two games and makes for a fine cash game play tonight against the Rangers. Corey Kluber is 2-1 over his last three with 32 strikeouts, I don't see Kluber racking up double digit strikeouts tonight facing the Royals who don't strikeout but the upside to go deep in any game and pick up strikeouts is always there with Kluber

Catcher - Yasmani Grandal of the Dodgers will most likely be wide owned in cash games tonight, everyone wants exposure to Coors over the last few days. I don't usually if ever pay up for a catcher, however tonight may be the exception. Russell Martin gets a good match up tonight and should be in consideration in all formats this evening. On the cheaper side of things behind the plate I really like Miguel Montero of the Cubs and Derek Norris of the Padres.

1st Base - Its going to be hard not to roster Albert Pujols in cash games tonight, Pujols has six homers in his last six games and tearing the cover off of the ball right now. Is tonight the night David Ortiz comes out of the little funk he is currently in? You can bet I will have some exposure to Ortiz tonight. I am assuming Justin Smoak of the Blue Jays will get the start tonight and could make for a nice cheap GPP play.

2nd Base - Yes, once again I am on board with the Justin Turner train, one of these nights Turner will make me look good when he hits a homer, hopefully tonight. If Danny Valencia is in the lineup tonight for Toronto I will want him in some lineups, he produces when he gets at bats. Addison Russell burnt me last night but has another favorable match up tonight that I am willing to target him again.

3rd Base - Obviously Josh Donaldson and Nolan Arenado don't need an introduction to be on your cash game teams. However on the GPP side of things I am going to target Evan Longoria facing a lefty tonight in hopes of a sneaky three hit game with a homer. Depending where Will Middlebrooks is hitting tonight, he could be in line for another big game for the Padres tonight.

Shortstop - I might jump all in on Starlin Castro tonight on a pure gut feeling that I will regret it if I don't roster him. Erick Aybar just gets hits, he doesn't provide much power but multiple hit games are the norm for Aybar this year.

Outfield - Jose Bautisa, Joc Pederson, and Byrce Harper are all the usually suspects for cash games with GPP upside tonight. Justin Upton makes for a nice pivot and salary relief off some of the top bats tonight and could have a massive game facing Dillon Gee of the Mets. Kevin Pillar coming off a two homer night could also make a fine play tonight if you are having trouble playing multiple top end outfielders.

-This will conclude my piece for the slate this evening in the MLB. As always, enjoy your night, and good luck growing your bankroll.
