Week 11 NFL Injury Report and Waiver Wire Target

I saw some things in Week 10 that I can say for sure I've never seen before.  I don't think I've seen a face mask penalty put a team just inside their kicker's FG range as time expires, leading to a game winning FG with no time on the clock (Jags-Ravens).  I can't remember a Lions win at Lambeau Field until this week.  I've never seen Peyton Manning pulled by his coach for poor performance.  And I KNOW I've never seen Kirk Cousins get a perfect QB rating for a complete game.

Football can be so unpredictable - it's one of the reasons I love it.  But it can frustrate you to no end sometimes as a fantasy owner.  You look at your roster on Sunday morning and think it looks fantastic.....and then the games start and nothing makes sense.  And this is before we even get to injuries, which can happen to anyone at anytime!  But enough ranting, let's see if we can help some of you that are dealing with player injuries and need to hit the waiver wire.

Julian Edelman, WR, New England - This one really hurts for the Patriots. Their PPR machine and WR1 suffered a Jones fracture in his foot during Sunday's game against the Giants. This is basically the same injury that kept Dez Bryant out for six weeks (which was a borderline miraculous return timeframe). Edelman will undergo surgery on his foot and if he has the same timeline for recovery there is a chance he could return for the NFL playoffs at some point. For most fantasy owners, however, that will be too late. Danny Amendola will see a lot more action in Edelman's absence.
Michael Floyd, WR, Arizona - Floyd had a great game against Seattle, catching seven passes for 113 yards and two TD's.  He injured his hamstring late in the game, however, and the team is considering him day to day at the moment.  Until we hear further he is questionable for Week 11.

Tony Romo, QB, Dallas - Romo has been out due to a broken collarbone, but ESPN's Ed Werder reported that the injury has healed and Romo will play in Week 11 against the Dolphins.

Leonard Hankerson, WR, Atlanta - Hankerson was a limited participant in Monday's practice.  It's looking like he will play in Week 11 and his WR2 status on the team will be intact.

Matt Forte, RB, Chicago - Forte was inactive for Sunday's game due to his MCL injury.  He did practice in a limited fashion this past week though, and the team is saying that he should be able to play Week 11 as long as his knee doesn't act up this week.

Peyton Manning, QB, Denver - The Denver Post is reporting that Manning has been suffering from plantar fasciitis in his foot since Week 9.  As bad as Manning has been lately, maybe a rest will do him some good.  The next man up for Denver will be Brock Osweiler, as Manning has already been ruled out for Week 11.

Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay - Lacy was inactive for Week 10 with a groin injury.  In his absence James Starks got the RB1 workload and there's a chance that this may be the case going forward.  The coaching staff has said they want to get Lacy going but he just hasn't been very effective lately.  We will see how the Packers classify Lacy's status early this week.

T.J.Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville - Yeldon injured his foot during Week 10's game against the Ravens and was spotted on Monday wearing a walking boot.  There has been no word from the team yet regarding the nature of his injury, but with a game coming up on Thursday night he has to be considered questionable until we know more details.
Victor Cruz, WR, NY Giants - I highly doubt any of you were holding out hopes for Cruz this season, but I thought I'd pass along that he will have season-ending surgery on his calf.  I hope he can come back next year for some team, even if it's not the Giants.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, NY Jets - Fitzpatrick had surgery on the thumb of his non-throwing hand last week and the Jets expect that he will practice this week.  If practice goes well he should play Week 11.

Sam Bradford, QB, Philadelphia - Bradford suffered what is believed to be a Grade II AC joint sprain in his shoulder as well as a concussion on Sunday.  The Eagles are saying that he will almost certainly miss Week 11, and possibly Week 12 since its a short week for the team with a game on Thanksgiving Day.

Ryan Mathews, RB, Philadelphia - Mathews suffered a concussion on Sunday and did not return, and he will enter the league protocol.  He is expected to miss Week 11.

Malcolm Floyd, WR, San Diego - The NFL Network is reporting that Floyd will attempt to rehab and play through the torn labrum injury in his shoulder.  I honestly have no idea how this will go, but for now he is considered week to week.

Kendall Wright, WR, Tennessee - Wright was inactive for Week 10's matchup with the Panthers and is considered questionable for Week 11 as well.  The team said that he will have to have full practices to show that he is ready to play on Thursday night.

Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco - Hyde's foot has been giving him issues for weeks.  The team was hoping that the bye week would give him enough time to heal, but he is still day to day.  Owners will have to pay attention to any practice updates from the Niners.
