Week 15 NFL Injury Report and Waiver Wire Targets

Week 14 of this NFL season has come and gone, and congrats to those of you who won your playoff matchup - there were plenty of injuries this week that may help you snag a waiver wire target or two to help you for next week.  Let's get right to the injury rundown.

Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati - Dalton was having one of his best seasons for the Bengals and his fantasy owners were reaping the benefits as well.  Unfortunately, Dalton broke his throwing thumb while trying to make a tackle after throwing an interception on Sunday.  He is done for the year.  There was hope for the Bengals, as A.J. McCarron came in and threw for decent yardage and a couple of TD's.  Those of you who were hoping to have Dalton for the rest of your playoffs will need to pay close attention to QB streamers if you don't have a really good backup.

Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle - Another season-ending injury this week, as Rawls broke his ankle during Seattle's game against Baltimore.  The Seahawks will most likely turn to a committee approach next week against Cleveland, using DuJuan Harris and Fred Jackson.

T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville - Yeldon suffered a sprained knee on Sunday and his status for this week is up in the air.  We haven't heard anything positive yet which does not bode well for his Week 15 status.  If he can't go this week, Denard Robinson should be the workhorse RB for the Jags and he would be a top-shelf waiver wire add.

Andre Ellington, RB, Arizona - A turf toe injury has kept Ellington out of action, but the Cardinals expect that he will be ready to play for Week 15.  He would be the backup RB behind David Johnson.

Greg Olsen, TE, Carolina - It looked very scary for Olsen and his owners on Sunday when he left the game after a gruesome hyperextension of his knee was caught on the tape.  According to the Panthers, however, Olsen was kept out of the game as a precaution due to the game against the Falcons being a blowout.  He will get an MRI on Monday but nothing bad is expected to come from it.

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina - Stewart also left Sunday's game against the Falcons, with the RB suffering an apparent foot injury.  Like Olsen, the Panthers said he was only kept out of the game as a precaution, and while he will get an MRI on Monday they do not expect it to reveal anything significant.

Tyler Eifert, TE, Cincinnati - Eifert left Sunday's game against Pittsburgh and was checked for a concussion.  He did not return and we will need an update from the team as to his status for this week.

Brian Hartline, WR, Cleveland - A broken collarbone suffered during Sunday's game will end Hartline's season.  He was coming on strong lately for the Browns, with 8 catches and 70-plus yards per game in three straight games.

C.J. Anderson, RB, Denver - Anderson did not see the field Week 14 even though he was not officially declared inactive by the Broncos.  The team is hoping that he will be healthy enough to play Week 15.

Brian Hoyer, QB, Houston - Hoyer suffered a concussion on Sunday and was taken out of the game.  His status at this point is week to week.

Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay - Jackson left Week 14's game against the Saints during the second quarter with an apparent knee injury and did not return.  The team reports that his injury is not considered serious, but with a Thursday night game this week Jackson may be kept out.  Stay tuned for updates from the Bucs.

DeSean Jackson, WR, Washington - Jackson is dealing with a patella contusion knee injury.  His status for Week 15 seems up in the air, but we don't have enough information at this point and will have to see how he practices this week.
