Week 16 NFL Injury Report and Waiver Wire Targets

I'm assuming that if you're reading our post this week that you made it to your league's championship matchup or have a consolation matchup on the line.  Congratulations to you, but we're not done yet!  At this point all that matters is this week, so that is how we are approaching this report.  Only injuries and waiver targets that will help you in Week 16 will matter.  With that said, let's get right to it.

Adrian Peterson, RB, Minnesota - Peterson left Sunday's game with an ankle injury but ultimately returned.  So far there are no concerns for his availability in Week 16, but check for practice updates just to be sure.  You'd hate to be caught by surprise with a last minute benching of your top RB.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo - McCoy suffered what is believed to be an MCL sprain during Sunday's matchup against Washington.  An MRI is scheduled for Monday so his status should a little clearer very soon.

A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati - Green left Sunday's game I the third quarter and did not return.  We aren't sure yet if he aggravated a prior back injury or if he was held out because the Bengals were up big on the Niners.  Stay tuned for any updates.

Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee - Reports are coming in that Mariota injured his MCL during Sunday's game.  If that's the case, he is probably done for the year.  It would make sense for the Titans to rest him as they are out of contention.  Zach Mettenberger will probably finish the season out.
Update:  Mariota has a sprained MCL and will miss the rest of the season.

Danny Amendola, WR, New England - A knee injury knocked Amendola out of Sunday's game against the Titans and he did not return.  With the return of Julian Edelman getting closer, there is a good chance that the Pats give Amendola Weeks 16 and 17 to recover in time for the playoffs.

Melvin Gordon, RB, San Diego - Gordon injured his knee and left Sunday's game.  He has an MRI scheduled for Monday, but with a Thursday night game this week he should be considered doubtful until we know more.
Update:  Gordon has been placed on I.R. with cartilage damage in his knee.  He is out for the remainder of the season.

Shaun Draughn, RB, San Francisco - The knee injuries continue, and we add Draughn to the list.  He left Sunday's game and did not return.  Travaris Cadet finished the day for the Niners and depending on Draughn's status he may start next week as well.

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina - The Panthers went with a committee approach at RB on Sunday, and no update has been given so far for Week 16 regarding Stewart.  The Panthers have said that they aren't resting their starters yet but they have no reason to rush Stewart back before he's ready.  Stay tuned for any updates.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago - Jeffery exited Sunday's game with an apparent hamstring injury.  That does not sound good for his Week 16 prospects, but we will listen for any updates going into this week.

T.J. Yeldon, RB, Jacksonville - Yeldon missed Week 15 with a knee injury, but during Sunday's game Denard Robinson sprained his foot, meaning that Yeldon may be hurried back from recovery a little quicker for Week 16.  He's still considered day to day and has not practiced, so we will need to listen for updates.

Denard Robinson, RB, Jacksonville - As mentioned above, Robinson sprained his foot on Sunday.  His status for Week 16 is unknown, but whoever DOES start at RB for the Jaguars will have a great matchup against the Saints, so stay tuned.
